Some of the birds that are relinquished to Kane Kare's Parrot & Exotic Animal Sanctuary will be placed in a foster care home until they can be adopted into permanent homes. The use of foster homes allows us to work with those birds that may have some minor behavioral or health related problems, and to help the bird(s) adjust to their new situation. In addition, most of the birds that are relinquished come from home environments where they at least had some interaction with people. We believe a foster care home will make the transition to a permanent home much easier. It takes a very special person to become a foster care parent.

If you are not able to adopt an animal at this time, but would like to help animals, we have many opportunities for you. We are always in need of FOSTER HOMES. Our wonderful foster home volunteers enable us to literally save the lives of more animals - without our foster homes most of these animals would not be alive. It is a very rewarding experience to take in, and care for, a frightened abandoned animal and watch that animal grow in confidence and blossom into a wonderful companion pet.
